You forgot to add the 52 million they paid to negotiate with Dice K to his salary, that's a real bargain though at 60 million...
Every single position player on that team is WAY overpaid other than Ortiz (and maybe Manny, I'm not sure). 11 million for Varitek??? 8 mil for Lugo?? JD Drew the second highest paid player on the team???

Wakefield is now and always has been the bargain on the Sox.
Sure, he's just a #4 starter, but at $4M, the guy can start, close, do middle relief, and can pitch on less rest than most other pitchers. He's given them an avg of around 200 innings a year, too.
