Are You F*cking Kidding Me?

Where is Reno Mahe when you need him? Nice play out of the jokes the Eagles had as punt returners today. Greg Lewis, you almost single handedly cost me money today with your asinine play. First you muff a punt that's recovered for a TD by the high school level Green Bay Packers. If that wasn't enough, you tried to muff a second punt later on. You are so dumb that legendary Eagles radio voice Merrill Reese called you out for for being an idiot. You know you suck when the local announcer rips you live on air.

But G-Lew, if you thought you had the market cornered on retarded plays, you were sorely mistaken. JR Reid kept a close eye on you all game and would not be outdone. He decided that the game was a little too close for comfort late in the 4th quarter, so he took it upon himself to muff yet another punt, leading to the game winning Packers field goal. Nice work out of both guys.

All that said, if the Eagles had decided to start a QB who could complete more than 15 of 33 passes, mixing in a little touch and accuracy, they would've won easily. What a jagoff McNabb is. Most overrated QB in the history of the NFL. They would have won going away with Kolb or Garcia (now in TB). I would start Kolb next week if I am Andy. Its the only shot they have at the playoffs at this point.

Ballshots:

  • It was another Virginia Tech bloodbath this weekend, as they fall to offensively challenged LSU 48-7. 48-7! VT was ranked 9! Terrible.
  • As predicted on this very blog by David J, the Bulls of South Florida most certainly are on parade. They won at Auburn. Look for them to run the Big East table.
  • Michigan's season keeps rolling along. Another home loss embarrassment. I now think that App State isn't even that good. Michigan is just brutal.
  • There was no shortage of homosexual Boston hats up in Happy Valley this weekend. Bandwagon Nation is still very powerful. And gay.
  • Curb kicks off Season 6 tonight. Thank god.
  • Federer is in the US Open final. Oh, wait, no one cares.
  • Looks like the Phillies are pretty close to the WC lead. I don't feel like doing the math, but it looks close.
  • Forget Tony Danza, I'm the boss.

How much of the game did you watch BSMB? I mean, I doubt you left Penn State early enough to be home by kickoff. So you are probably just looking at stats and making idiotic statements about the game.

Your beloved Reid must have let his sons script the first 15 plays. A flea-flicker? Against a team who led football in sacks last year? He must be trying to get McNabb killed back there.

Tony Hunt...DNP. Nice work. Why not run the ball when you are inside the 5, instead of swing passes to Brian Westbrook which were gobbled up?

Ironically, I bury the Eagles for not running the ball, the possession that killed them was with 4:18 left in the 4th, following the Kearse fumble recovery. Check the game book.

One first down there, and they kick a FG and go up 16-13.

McNabb didn't cost them that game. The GM cutting the only guy on the team who knew how to return punts and whoever decided to put Greg Lewis and JR Reed back there to field punts. Do you remember PHI-NYG from a few years back? Why not put 36 in there to make sure the friggin punt gets caught?

VT is brutal. Hank Williams showed more life in the back seat of his car in his finals hours that the Hokies did on Sat night. At least he convulsed a bit- they went lifeless immediately.

BSMB your ignorance is overwhelming. If you think Reid has nothing to do with the play calling, you're nuts.

Taken from Paul Domowitch's column today....

-- To Andy Reid's game-opening script of plays. He tried to dazzle the Packers' defense with a different formation and personnel grouping on almost every play. But the only ones who seemed confused were the Eagles' offensive players.

-- To the curious playcalling by the Eagles early in the second quarter when they had a first-and-goal at the Green Bay 6-yard line. After a Westbrook run produced just 1 yard, McNabb threw two lame swing passes to Westbrook, one that was overthrown and another that went for no gain. Why did they draft 233-pound Tony Hunt again?

F You, F Andy Reid
